Disciplinary Policy
The purpose of this Disciplinary Policy is to promote a positive, respectful, and productive educational and working environment at Beacon College by outlining the standards of conduct expected from students, faculty, and staff, and the procedures for addressing violations of these standards.
This policy applies to all students, faculty members, administrative staff, and contractors engaged with Beacon College.
All members of Beacon College are expected to:
Maintain honesty and integrity in all academic and professional activities.
Respect the rights, dignity, and diversity of others.
Follow all college rules, regulations, and codes of conduct.
Maintain a safe, harassment-free environment.
Avoid any behavior that disrupts the learning or working environment.
Misconduct includes but is not limited to:
Academic dishonesty (plagiarism, cheating, fabrication).
Insubordination or refusal to follow legitimate instructions.
Harassment, bullying, discrimination, or any form of abuse.
Theft, vandalism, or damage to college property.
Unauthorized use or possession of alcohol, drugs, or weapons on college premises.
Unauthorized absence or tardiness.
Any act that endangers the safety or well-being of others.
Allegations of misconduct should be reported to the designated authority: for students, this may be the Student Affairs Office; for staff, the Human Resources Department.
Reports can be submitted in writing or verbally.
The college will promptly investigate all reported misconduct in a fair and confidential manner.
The accused will be given an opportunity to respond to the allegations.
Depending on the severity, a formal disciplinary hearing may be convened.
The hearing panel will be impartial and include relevant college officials.
Both the complainant and the accused have the right to present evidence and witnesses.
Based on findings, disciplinary actions may include:
Verbal or written warnings.
Probation.
Suspension (temporary removal from college).
Expulsion or termination.
Other corrective actions (e.g., mandatory training).
The decision will be communicated in writing to the involved parties.
Any party dissatisfied with the disciplinary decision may appeal within [e.g., 14 days] of notification.
Appeals must be submitted in writing stating the grounds for appeal.
An appeal panel will review and make a final decision.
All disciplinary matters will be handled with confidentiality to protect the privacy of all involved.
It is the responsibility of all members to uphold this policy.
Supervisors and faculty members must enforce standards and report misconduct.
The college administration is responsible for fair implementation of this policy.
This policy will be reviewed regularly and updated as needed to reflect legal requirements and college needs.
